Why Showing Up for Yourself Is the Key to Building Confidence

There was a time when I thought growth meant having the right answers. I thought I needed to feel more confident before I raised my hand, shared my ideas, tried something new, or put myself out there. I've learned that's almost never how it works.
Growth isn't waiting until you feel ready. It's showing up anyway. For the workout when you don't feel like it, for your family when life feels busy, for your team, your clients, your co-workers and your friends because they know they can count on you. And sometimes the most important person to show up for is yourself.
Confidence isn't something we magically find one day. We build it by keeping the promises we make to ourselves. Every time we follow through, we strengthen that trust. Every time we repeatedly let ourselves down, that confidence starts to fade.
When you show up for yourself, even in small ways, you're proving that you're someone you can count on.
I coach a lot of people through showing up on social media, and this comes up constantly. They worry about what to say, what people will think, whether anyone will even care. Those feelings are completely normal. What's also true is that the more you grow, the more visible you become, and with visibility sometimes comes criticism. That's part of the process. If you're making an impact, not everyone will agree with you, and that's okay.
The people who continue to grow aren't necessarily the smartest, the most talented, or the most confident. They're the ones who keep showing up. They ask questions when they don't know the answers. They stay in the room long enough to learn. They keep taking the next step, even when they can't see the whole path.
You don't have to have everything figured out. You just have to keep showing up.
