Not Your Grandmother's Wagon, But Also Exactly That: Is the Hulken Bag Worth It?

There’s something about this that takes me right back…
I have memories of walking down the streets of Brooklyn with my grandmother and her shopping cart… stopping at the produce stand, the butcher, the fish market… picking up what she needed from each little shop. Going to Waldbaum’s was a whole production… you had to get in the car and she didn’t drive… it was a thing. So most days, it was her and that cart.
Fast forward to now… and here I am in condo living… and let’s just say… the schlepping is real.
If you don’t know the word schlep… it’s Yiddish for dragging or carrying a bunch of stuff from one place to another… usually more than you want… and usually a little inconvenient.
Enter… my modern version of that cart…
The Hulken Bag, which, I think, is absolutely worth it.
What I love:
It comes in three sizes… so you can choose what fits your lifestyle
It folds completely flat… so easy to store (a lot of people in my building keep it in their car)
It holds a ton without feeling bulky
It rolls smoothly… which matters more than you think when you’re schlepping across parking lots, elevators, and sidewalks
I use it all the time… especially for beach club days. Instead of juggling a cooler + bags + random extras… everything goes into one place… food (hot and cold), drinks, dog stuff, games… done.
But what really pushed me to finally buy it?
Carrying my heavy Mahjong set back from the beach club one day… that was my moment. I was like… there has to be a better way.
Apparently this bag is huge in New York City… but trust me… it’s just as essential for Florida condo living.
So yes… it may not be my grandmother’s wagon…
…but she would 100% approve.
