Insight Timer: A Free Meditation App to Help Build a Consistent Practice

Lately, I’ve been consistently using an app called Insight Timer as part of my meditation practice.
I’ve known about it for a long time. It’s a free meditation and mindfulness app with guided meditations, breathing practices, music, sleep tracks, and lots more. I’ve mostly been using the guided meditations.
There’s been a lot of noise around me lately with construction, people coming and going, and everything else, so putting on my headphones and zoning into a guided meditation has been a really nice way to block it all out for a little while.
I also love the actual timer. For years, if I was meditating on my own, I would just set the timer on my phone. This keeps everything in one place and tracks my practice too.
And where are my streak people, the ones who like closing their rings, checking the box, and seeing how many days in a row they can keep something going? Insight Timer tracks your streak, reminds you to practice, and gives you those little milestones that somehow make you want to keep going.
So if you’re new to meditation, trying to build a more consistent practice, or you just love anything that helps you keep a streak alive, this is a good one to add to your arsenal of free self-help apps. Put on your headphones, pick something that sounds good, and give yourself a few minutes.
