Finding the Perfect Sneaker: How Free Foot Scanning Changed My Comfort Game

Back in 2012, I had an amazing experience at the Bloomingdale’s on 59th Street in NYC. Anyone remember the Denim Seeker? It was this machine that scanned your body and recommended the best-fitting jeans for your body type. It told me I should wear Paige, size 27… and it was totally right. I still think about how helpful that was.
Fast forward to now… different scan, same idea.
I recently went to Fleet Feet in Gaithersburg, Maryland and had my feet scanned to find the best sneaker for my feet. Just like with the jeans, the results were spot on. These tools make life so much simpler and I love that both were free.
After a few foot issues (including a rebellious toe), my podiatrist suggested orthotics and a toe separator. So I showed up to Fleet Feet with my gear, and they matched me with the Hoka Bondi, which has been so much better for long walks.
I might have some “extra” accessories in my shoes now, but I’m finally walking pain-free and ready to rack up the miles.
