Cecchi’s NYC: What to Order at This West Village Restaurant

Golden pastry-wrapped bites topped with grated cheese, served beside a bowl of red dipping sauce.

I recently had a work dinner at Cecchi’s in New York City’s West Village, and while the whole evening was great, there are two things I’m still thinking about.

First, their San Gennaro in a Blanket, basically the chicest, most delicious version of pigs in a blanket. I’m not exaggerating when I say these were to die for. I would go back just to sit at the bar, order these and call it a very happy snack.

And then there was the Dirty Girl, their take on a dirty martini made with vodka, olive and pickle brine. If you like a dirty martini and you like pickles, trust me on this one. So good.

Cecchi’s has a really fun, lively atmosphere and the food overall was great, but those two were the standouts for me. Reservations can be tough to get, so if you find yourself in the West Village and can snag a seat at the bar, I’d happily go just for a Dirty Girl and San Gennaro in a Blanket.
