My Bucket-List Experience at the New York Stock Exchange Closing Bell

My most recent adventure wasn’t about exploring a new city or checking out a new restaurant. It was getting to do something that had been sitting in the back of my mind as a bucket-list experience for years.
Six years ago, I watched people from my company ring the Closing Bell at the New York Stock Exchange. I remember thinking how incredibly cool it would be to experience that someday.
When the opportunity came around again, Scott and I were invited.
After almost nine years in this business, getting that invitation was pretty surreal. We started the day at a small science symposium with company leaders, talking about where we’re headed in metabolic health, longevity, science and human coaching. Then that afternoon, we headed to the New York Stock Exchange for the Closing Bell ceremony.
Standing on the floor of the NYSE together, surrounded by people I’ve worked alongside for years, celebrating a company that is 40 years old and has been listed on the NYSE for 20 years, was just COOL. There have been a lot of experiences in this business I never could have predicted when I said yes all those years ago. This was definitely one of them.
That’s one of the things I love most about adventuring. Sometimes you know exactly what’s on your bucket list, and sometimes life surprises you with experiences you never even knew to put on it.
