The Tox

I recently had the most unique self-care experience at The Tox, a lymphatic facial followed by their 60-minute Master Tox body sculpting treatment. And let me tell you, I’ve had a lot of massages in my life… but nothing quite like this.
I bought the package at the Cold Collective event I mentioned earlier and scheduled it right away. I’d actually driven past The Tox many times since it opened in October, but somehow never really noticed it. Walking in, it was a very cool environment. Minimalist, mostly black and a little white, even the walls, toilet and toilet paper were black. The last time I saw black toilet paper was in Lisbon… it definitely made a statement.
My technician, Danielle, was fantastic. She made me feel comfortable from the start and explained everything she was doing. We chatted just the right amount, which I appreciated. The treatment began with a facial that helped visibly reduce puffiness in my face. I actually fell asleep during it… that’s how relaxing it was. But when I looked in the mirror afterward, the difference was clear. If you’ve got a special event or photos coming up, this would be such a great pre-glow treatment.
Then came the Master Tox. It’s their signature blend of sculpting modalities, designed to promote lymphatic flow, stimulate detox, and leave you feeling lighter. At one point, when she started working on my abdomen, it reminded me of an Ayurvedic massage I had years ago… the only other time I’ve ever had to pause mid massage to pee. The Tox technique really does get things moving.
I had been drawn to this treatment after seeing before-and-after photos showing reduced bloating and a more sculpted waistline. With all the meno belly stuff I’ve been experiencing lately, I was curious to see if it might help. Afterward, Danielle gave me some great aftercare advice… drink a ton of water, skip alcohol for 3 days, try to get a sweat in the next day, and just pay attention to how your body responds.
I’m including a before-and-after photo from my treatment, although the difference wasn’t as dramatic as some I’ve seen online. I actually wish I had taken a photo of my face too, that’s where I noticed the change right away.
Interestingly, the next day, I felt an odd kind of pressure in my lower abdomen. I can’t say for sure if it was from the treatment, but something was definitely shifting. Danielle mentioned it may support sluggish digestion and improve circulation, which definitely connects to how our bodies feel in midlife.
During my workout class the next day, my instructor brought up lymphatic massage, different place, same idea, so clearly this is something a lot of people are exploring right now.
They recommend doing it every other week in the beginning and then once a month for maintenance. I could absolutely see myself continuing.
As far as whether it helps with menopause-related issues, the verdict is still inconclusive. I’ll definitely try it again and see. My guess is you need more than one to see real impact in that area. But overall, I loved the service and the experience. It felt good to be doing something that supports my body in aging well.
The Tox is a growing franchise with locations in cities all across the country. Definitely check to see if there’s one near you… it might be just what your body needs.
