The Modern Rose – Delray Beach

Updated: Aug 23

With everything going on lately, we found ourselves needing little escapes... and brunch at The Modern Rose was just that.

Tucked away in Delray Beach, this all-day brunch spot is a gem. I’d driven by it dozens of times without realizing what I was missing. We finally went on Father’s Day, and I’m so glad we did. It’s a family-run business with so much heart. We met the parents and their two daughters, who help run the place. One of the daughters actually designed the entire restaurant, and it shows. Every corner is full of personality and warmth. The decor is funky, cozy, and so thoughtfully done... you’ll want to walk through the space just to take it all in.

Scott and I split two dishes and honestly couldn’t decide which one we liked more:

🍳 I had the Tulum Sammy — herb-grilled muenster and mozzarella, two jumbo over-easy eggs, pesto, tomato, roasted corn, elote seasoning, cotija cheese, Mexican cream, and chili pepper flakes. It was absolutely next level.

🍕 Scott had the Modern Egg Pizza — also with herb-grilled muenster and mozzarella, over-easy eggs, basil, pesto, tomato, prosciutto, and balsamic glaze on naan. It was the perfect combo of rich, fresh, and comforting.

And the prices? $13.90 for mine and $13 for his. Generous portions, beautiful presentation, and totally affordable.

Fair warning — the food takes a little while. But everything is home-cooked, so it’s worth the wait. It was also a holiday when we went, so things moved a bit slower than usual. Just go in with a little patience and a big appetite.

One more thing that really stood out? The drinks menu. Pages and pages of specialty coffee, tea, and boba drinks. If you’re a coffee and tea person, prepare to be overwhelmed in the best way.

Parking isn’t the easiest — their lot is tiny — but there’s a free lot just down the street to the right, or a paid lot to the left where they’ll reimburse you for the first hour.

All in all? It was more than just a meal. It was the kind of experience that lifts your mood, feeds your soul, and makes you want to come back with friends.
