Let’s Talk About Mobility

This week I had one of those aha moments that made me rethink what movement really means.
After an intense SHRED class at Slash Fitness in Boca (thank you Joe!), I stayed for a free mobility session led by Dr. Ben Kelly, a Human Movement Specialist from CYPHER Sports Rehab & Performance.
We brought our mats and were each handed a lacrosse ball. Ben guided us through a series of targeted pressure points, stretches, and mobility drills and it was kind of amazing. He had us test certain movements before and after, and you could actually feel the difference. I left feeling so much looser, more aligned, and more aware of how my body moves.
It was one of those reminders that mobility isn’t just about preventing injury. It’s about preserving freedom, confidence, and quality of life. As the CYPHER website says, “It’s more than discomfort, it’s the loss of freedom and confidence.”
I’ve been loving the energy of this fitness community. Being around people who show up, push themselves, and support each other is helping me stay consistent and raise the bar on how I care for my body.
Mobility may not always feel as flashy as a big workout, but it’s one of the most important pieces for sustainable movement. And I’m here for it.
