Getting Back into the Swing of the Gym

Updated: Aug 23

ree

Back to the gym (finally).

After weeks of moving, travel, and way too many days out of my normal rhythm… I finally got myself back to the gym.

I had frozen my membership for a bit, but squeezed in two strength training sessions before hitting the road again… and it felt so good to be back.

What surprised me most?

My body remembered.

It was like I picked up right where I left off.

Sure, I was sore… but I’ve been using the amino acids from my health program to help with muscle recovery. And I definitely notice the difference when I use them vs. when I forget.

It’s not just about soreness, though. After the age of 50, we naturally lose 1–2% of muscle mass every year if we’re not actively working to maintain it. Strength training and amino acids are two of the best ways to fight that.

A study in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition found that essential amino acid supplementation can improve muscle recovery, reduce soreness, and even promote muscle growth in adults over 50.

Bottom line…

Your body will thank you when you move it.

And support it.

Even just showing up again, after a break, counts. I’m proud I did.
